Percy William Mallett was born in Norwich in 1882 and listed previous service with the 13th Hussars upon his enlistment in May 1915. Embarking for France on 8 January 1916 he served there until the end of the war earning a 'mention' in 1919 (London Gazette 7 July 1919) to go with his Medaille d'Honneur avec Glaives; sold together with copied London Gazette extracts.
