(x) Army L.S. & G.C., V.R. (357. Pte J. Davidson, 2-16th Foot), very fine

James Davidson was born at Seagoe, Portadown, Armagh in 1837 and attested there with the 2/16th Foot on 19 May 1858. He is noted as having served in British North America for four years and five months, with his service papers noting an illness at Halifax, Novia Scotia. Further to this Davidson was stationed in the West Indies for two years and nine months and another five years in India, leaving him with almost twelve years of foreign service. He was discharged at Netley on 23 December 1879; sold together with copied service papers.
