Ernest Godrey Gee was born on 25 March 1881 and served in France from 19 August 1914 being entitled to the 1914 Star Trio with clasp. He was commissioned into the Royal Field Artillery 1 October 1914 and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. in the same month. Promoted Second Lieutenant on 13 November 1914, Lieutenant on 9 June 1915 and Captain on 20 May 1918. He retired from the Royal Artillery on 23 January 1923.

Gee joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve within the Adminastative and Special Duties Branch. He was promoted to Squadron Leader on 16 December 1941. On 10 August 1943 he relinquished his commission on ceasing to be employed and retained his rank of Squadron Leader. Gee died on 5 June 1961 at Colchester, Essex.
