Three: Warrant Officer P. O. Barlow, Royal Artillery

Percy Douglas Barlow was born in 1916, he served as a member of the Royal Artillery (T.A.) between 23 March 1938 - 1 September 1939 and was embodied into the Royal Artillery at Windsor on 2 September 1939. He served at Home for the duration of the Second World War but later saw service as part of the British Army on the Rhine between 11 April 1949 - 9 August 1949, followed by service to Malta between 17 December 1953 - 1 March 1954, returning to the B.A.O.R. between 17 April 1954 - 13 June 1954. Barlow was finally discharged on 1 June 1959 as a result of the reduction of the Establishment.

Sold together with an original archive comprising:

(i)
Metal dog tag.

(ii)
Regular Army Certificate of Service.

(iii)
A letter from Headquarters, Woolwich Garrison, dated 9 April 1946 thanking him for the part he played in the funeral of Field Marshal The Viscount Gort.

(iv)
A letter, dated 15 June 1946, from Jacqueline De L'Isle & Dudley thanking him for the part he played in the funeral of their father the late Field Marshal Lord Gort.
