Peter Stanley Jarrold enlisted on 2 July 1942 and was given the service number 14220379. He saw service with the 4th Battalion Grenadier Guards in North West Europe from 26 September 1944 - 8 August 1945. Served in Malaya between 9 September 1948 - 17 August 1949 he was also at Fayid (Canal Zone) from 8 November 1951 - 5 June 1952.

Jarrold re-enlisted at Brighton on 28 January 1953 and was entitled to a further clasp to his General Service Medal for service in the Near East however he received the medal offered here; sold together with typed service history.
