Dupre. R.Ir.Rif.); Defence Medal; Special Reserve L.S. & G.C., G.V.R. (3068 Sjt: S. Dupre. R.Ir: Rif:), mounted incorrectly as worn, note differing initials, some light edge bruising to the first and last, otherwise light contact marks, very fine (5)

Samuel Dupre was born at Corcreany, Waringstown, Down, Northern Ireland in January 1881, the son of William and Ann Dupre. Serving with the 5th Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers during the Anglo-Boer War he was still in service with the rank of Sergeant on the outbreak of the Great War. Dupre was awarded his L.S. & G.C. on 1 July 1918, he died at Waringstown, Down, on 3 June 1954.
