Ashantee 1873-74, no clasp (H. G. Cocking, Engr. R.N. H.M.S. Barracouta. 73-74.), good very fine

Henry Gladstone Cocking was born on 26 February 1842 and was appointed Assistant Engineer on 30 December 1864. He was made Engineer in March 1871 and served aboard the Barracouta, being lent to Merlin from 15-30 September 1873. Advanced Chief Engineer in June 1884, he died on 1 January 1885.
