(x) Bank Melli, Iran, Consecutive pair of 500 Rials including [Top Pop], ND (1951), serial numbers 1/614883-4,
the fronts are designed in tones of blue and yellow, featuring Farsi text as well as a portrait of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran from 1941 to 1979, in army uniform. The back is designed in notes of blue, pale yellow and violet. English and Farsi text is showcased, along with a painting of four women picnicking in an orchard from Chehel Sotoun in Isfahan. This imagery celebrates Persian art and culture as well as promoting national pride and historical continuity. Both banknotes present a watermark of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and are signed by Mohammad Ali Bamdad and Abdol Hossein Ebtehaj,
