these 100 Rials notes from the 1944 issues are the highest denomination of the first series and the only denomination in this series printed by Harrison and Sons, a company established in 1750.
Harrison and Sons began printing banknotes in the 1920s and were known for their high-quality printing. This fantastic close pair of 100 Rials notes are in superb condition and their serial numbers only separated by 40.
This series of 100 Rial notes, so called the "Brown 100 Rial" of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, had a limited print run of just 900,000 pieces. Most of these notes were subsequently destroyed, making this 100 Rial series the rarest of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's reign,
