(x) Bank Melli, Iran, 100 Rials, ND (1932), serial number A075241,
the front exhibits a combination of purple, green, pink and pale orange tones whilst the back showcases a brown design. Farsi text appears on the front and back. Reza Shah, the founder of the Pahlavi dynasty and Shah of Iran from 1925 to 1941, appears on the front right in a Pahlavi hat. To the left of this portrait is an image of the Persepolis columns. The appearance of the columns of Persepolis on Iranian banknotes is a powerful symbol of cultural heritage, national identity and historical continuity.
