1866 "Maximilian" Issue
Guadalajara-Tepic 7c. Gray lithographed, two pairs, all well-margined, and 50c. Green, just touched at left with good margins on other sides, all consignment 41-1866, all tied to cover dated December 1866. Missing a flap and with two tears at the top, not affecting the stamps. A very desirable and significant rarity of this short-lived issue, owing to the very few surviving covers featuring this franking, and the fact that any cover bearing a 7c. or 50c. stamp is rare. 2024 MEPSI certificate, signed Calves.
