Hermosillo 2r. Green, narrow but clear margins, just slightly touching at the bottom, used on a cover from Hermosillo to San Francisco, Alta California, with an arrival San Francisco Oct 24, 1859 datestamp and "Ship 6" h.s. alongside. Filing fold through the stamp. Very few covers are known from Mexico to the U.S. West Coast, and this example is especially attractive. Sold for $5,250 in the 2000 Regency auction (lot #6076). 2024 MEPSI certificate. Scott 3.
