1868-69, 4c. black on green paper, the famous pair showing transfer types C (featuring extensive retouching in the top left corner) and D se-tenant (types as per Ringström and Tester), displaying deep, fresh colour and four wide margins all around, mint with fresh original gum and a few light hinge remnants at the top, characteristically cracked original gum. Light horizontal gum crease and pinhole at right, both of absolutely no significance for this outstanding rarity. The only multiple available of this, the rarest stamp of the Santo Tomás - La Guaira - Puerto Cabello issues, as well as one of the most important rarities of the Caribbean mail and Venezuela, being even scarcer than the "Bolívar Negro".
