1873 (17 Jan.) envelope to London "via Bombay & Brindisi" and in the lower corner sent from "Shiraz" and dated, also marked "Please Stamp" partly covered by India 8a. tied by Bushire "26" duplex and with London Paid arrival (3.3) at left, the reverse bearing two Bombay transit c.d.s. (10.2). Carried of the Shiraz - Bushire route. This is believed to be the only franked British consular mail from Persia before the country joined the U.P.U. in 1877. Photo
