Ballon Monte
1870 (2 Dec.) par ballon monte headed wrapper opened for display, from Paris addressed to Nouvion-en-Ponthieu bearing 1870 10c. bistre (2, one used as a seal of the wrapper and torn in two on opening), cancelled by '6' in stars of dots obliterator with adjacent Paris c.d.s. On arrival the wrapper was redirected to Brussels with the addition of 1870 Empire Laure 1c. (10) cancelled by '2690' numeral in lozenge of dots obliterator and partially tied by arrival (13.12) c.d.s. A few expected faults, nevertheless a spectacular combination.
