1870 (Nov. 2), Dépêche-Ballon (No. 8, 22 November) to Montbazon, redirected to Landes, carried by the Ville d'Orléans, Paris/Gros-Caillou c.d.s. and framed "P.P.", the balloon was swept out to sea and part of the Mail jettisoned above the sea by the aeronauts and recovered by Norwegian fishermen, stamp floated off, transit and arrival markings on reverse; fine and rare.
