1900 (5 May) double rate envelope to Victoria, Australia bearing sans-serif Bechuanaland Protectorate 3d. on 1d. pair, 2d. on 6d. and 1s. on 6d., all tied by Mafeking c.d.s. and showing, on reverse, part Bulawayo and Castlemaine arrival datestamps; the envelope with some peripheral faults and large part of flap missing. A rare three colour franking, this being the largest number of different sans-serif overprinted stamps known on cover and one of three letters known addressed to Australia. Photo
