1900 (27 Apr.) envelope from Lt.-Col. Charles O. Hore, Commander of the Protectorate Regiment, to his wife at Leamington, bearing seriffed overprint Cape 3d. on 1d. pair [2-3] and Bechuanaland Protectorate 6d. on 2d. [1], making up the one-shilling northern route rate, both tied by Mafeking c.d.s., showing Buxton transit d.s. with, on reverse, Bulawayo (6.5) and arrival (24.6) datestamps. Carried from cape Town to Southampton by the "Dunvegan Castle". A neat and attractive franking. Photo
