The Cotton Reel Cut-Square Numeral Error with Intact Frameline
12c. black on pale blue Type A, showing variety "2" of "12" with straight foot, initialled "E.D.W.", cut square with circular frameline intact, cancelled by Demerara double-arc d.s. for 2 September 1851; some slight thinnings and small tear at foot clear of design. Extremely rare, only six examples are recorded of this error, of which three are cut square, with this being unique exhibiting complete margins. Friedl Certificate (1982). S.G. 7a, £110,000. Photo
