(x) The Major David Cecil Underwood Jr. Collection
Royal Philatelic Collection / National Strike
1926 Autograph letter written to Lady Cave on mourning Buckingham Palace notepaper by King George V, signed "George R.I." thanking her for her "kindness in sending me that envelope with the Zanzibar stamps on it, which your brother sent you before they were issued. I find that I had them only unused, so they will make a very valuable addition to my collection, in which I have already placed them".
The King refers to the National Strike. "We are living in anxious times, we must all pray that this terrible strike may soon come to an end." With the original envelope to "The Viscountess Cave, Royal Court, House of Lords", not postally used.
