1930 Autograph letter on Buckingham Palace notepaper written by Sir Edward Denny Bacon, Curator of the Royal Philatelic Collection (1913-38), saying that "His Majesty does not collect the stamps of the Indian Native States or foreign countries and does not include in his collection varieties of obliterations. The Straits Settlements stamp of 8c mentioned appears to be a shade of no.114 of Messrs Stanley Gibbons' catalogue.
