1860 (c.), a Victorian enamelled sign (35.5 x 30.5 cm.) with black lettering on a white background, inscribed "v(crown)r/post office/letter box/notice, letters which contain coin, if posted as ordinary letters, will be charged on delivery with a special registration fee of eight pence"; wear around the screw holes and the letter slot as would be expected.
