1592 (3 April) entire letter from Gugliemo Petala "To the Worshipfull Mr. Phillip Corsiny in St. Clements Lane geave this, London", rated by the sender "for post fowre pence". Contents regard cargoes of corn, grain and peas. The only known Corsini postal rate from Ipswich and one of very few from this port. An exceptionally late use of the 4d. rate, the rates changing to 6d. in 1591. Fine and a major rarity. Photo
