1869 (4 Nov.) incoming envelope from Glasgow to Rangoon, bearing GB 1d. and 6d. (2) cancelled by despatch duplex, travelled via London (5.11), India "sea post office" (18.11), Calcutta (3.12) and arrived in Rangoon (8.12), the recipient was not available and "unclaimed" (Type I45) handstamp in red applied (the only known example), oval "redirected" (Type I30) h.s. (one of two known), "rangoon/bg-1-anna" (the only known example), the envelope was redirected to Moulmein (11.12) and handstamped "unclaimed" (Type I2; one of two known), before being sent to the "dead letter office/bengal" (25.6.70). Envelope faulty and repaired as expected for a such travelled item, nevertheless a magnificent exhibition item, with the strikes mentioned believed to be unique or very rare. Photo
