George IV (1820-1830), Crown, 1822 TERTIO, laureate head left, rev. St. George and Dragon, downwards lettered edge, 28.25g, 8h (ESC 251; Bull 2318; S.3805), small carbon spots and faint cabinet friction in otherwise brilliant proof-like fields, splendidly choice, and practically as struck from fresher dies, exhibiting strong vein details on the laurel wreath leaves, a remarkable survivor made all the more-extraordinary for its certifiable 19th Century Spink pedigree!
