George III (1760-1820), 'New Coinage', Crown, 1819 LX, laureate head right, rev. St. George and Dragon within Garter, upwards lettered edge, 28.25g, 6h (ESC 216; Bull 2013; S.3787), the deftest cabinet friction in otherwise perfect cartwheel lustrous fields with pools of residual mint brilliance further accentuated by soft but natural and colourful cabinet tone, truly choice FDC, and thus a spell-binding example of this commonly-encountered but notoriously tricky Pistrucci series
