George II (1727-1760), 'Old Head' Shilling, 1750, 'Wide O', old laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, seven hearts, edge obliquely milled, 6.02g, 6h (ESC 1211; Bull 1732; S.3704), struck soft on proudest hair curls, otherwise lustrous and lightly cabinet toned, a really pleasingly good extremely fine, with an exemplary pedigree to the legendary Montagu cabinet, extremely desirable thus
