George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1731, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. with extra stop between ET, four crowned shields cruciform, single pearls in bands, roses and plumes in angles, nine strings to harp, eight hearts, edge obliquely milled, 5.96g, 6h (ESC 1194; Bull 1704, "first T of A.T.ET.E over E"; S.3698), a small spot of corrosion by DEI, otherwise an attractive problem free coin, residually lustrous and colourfully cabinet toned, almost extremely fine
