Anne (1702-1714), Pattern Farthing, 1714 [struck 1738], authorised by Richard Arundell (Master of the Royal Mint) after Croker and Sir Isaac Newton, ANNA • DEI • GRATIA • draped bust left, inside broad border-teeth border, rev. BRITANNIA, Britannia seated left, edge plain, 4.63g, 6h (Montagu 83/15; BMC [Peck] 742 [2+E]; S.3625), struck on a broader flan than last, and thus most likely a 1738 Arundell re-issue once the 'Queen Anne Farthing' numismatic craze had begun, with handsome flashy and near-brilliant fields to toned surfaces, extremely fine
