Charles II (1660-1685), Halfcrown, 1670 VICESIMO SECVNDO, third laureate and draped bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, nine strings to harp, upwards lettered edge, 14.95g, 6h (ESC 467; Bull 453; S.3365), hints of flecking, with an attractive old grey tone on fully lustrous surfaces, further accentuated by purplish-blue iridescence, a most pleasing extremely fine, very rare in this exemplary quality
