Charles II (1660-1685), Royal African Company, 'Elephant' Crown, 1666 XVIII, second laureate and draped bust right, elephant below, rev. reading RE•X in error, four crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, downwards lettered edge, 29.92g, 5h (ESC 34 [R2]; Bull 369 [R2]; S.3356), lightly bagmarked, otherwise richly cabinet toned, a pleasing and wholesome very fine, the variety rare, the condition considerably above that usually encountered
