Provenance
The Alfred Leonard Fuller of Bath Collection (1870-1941)
Acquired from Messrs Spink & Son, 10 February 1898 - £4.10.0
Spink Numismatic Circular, February 1898 (P.2605, no. 43215) - "very fine" - £4.10.0
It is interesting that the Numismatic Circular offered seven such examples of Cromwell's Crowns at this time (nos. 43211-43217). Much like every Connoisseur, the careful deliberations that Fuller undertook eventually resulted in his acquisition of a middle-rated example as opposed to the pricier offerings from the Baron de Worms collection at £6.15.0 or the 'magnificent specimen' touted at £8.10.0.
