(m.m.) • EXVRGAT • DEVS • DISSIPENTVR • INIMICI • | REL : PRO : | LEG : ANG : | LIB : PAR : in three lines flanked by scrolls, three plumes with bands above, small 1646 below, 6.035g [93.134grns], 12h, m.m. plume (Morrieson B-1; Brooker 1130 same dies; North 2520; S.2040), attempted piercing where retariffed at the Great Recoiange of 1696, with some striking irregularities to edge, otherwise strikingly and colourfully cabinet toned, struck details bolder than fine, scarce, and an intriguing eyewitness to the Great Williamite Recoinage
