James I (1603-1625), Second Coinage, Halfpennies, Tower (5), 10 November 1604 - 20 June 1605, rose, rev. thistle, 0.201g, m.m. lys (North 2107; S.2663), pierced but lustrous and cabinet toned, about extremely fine; another, 21 June 1605 - 10 July 1606, as before, 0.222g, m.m. rose (North 2107; S.2663), some peripheral softness, otherwise richly cabinet toned, with much colouration to obverse, a bolder very fine; another, 11 July 1606 - 30 June 1607, as before, 0.257g, m.m. escallop (North 2107; S.2663), pierced and ghosted, otherwise cabinet toned, very fine or better; another, 11 July 1606 - 30 June 1607, as before, 0.242g, m.m. escallop (North 2107; S.2663), off-struck with deep blue-grey toning, a bolder very fine; another, 12 November 1607 - 17 May 1609, as first, 0.260g, m.m. coronet (North 2107; S.2663), lustrous and colourfully toned, some striking weakness, otherwise as issued, a delightful coin; lastly, Third Coinage, Halfpenny, rose, rev. thistle, 0.205g, no m.m. (North 2129; S.2673), a small striking split, and with historic scratches in obverse field, otherwise lightly cabinet toned and lustrous, almost extremely fine, with red wax in recesses (6)
