James I (1603-1625), Second Coinage, Shilling, 10 May 1611 - 22 May 1612, Tower, (m.m.) IACOBVS • D .' G .' MAG .' BRIT .' FRA .' ET • HIB .' REX • fifth crowned and armoured bust right, XII behind, rev. (m.m.) • QVÆ • DEVS • CONIVNXIT • NEMO • SEPARET, square-topped shield, plain harp, 5.814g, 12h, m.m. mullet [over bell on obverse only] (Oddie & Thompson P26-P28/- [O19] same obverse die, reverse die unlisted; North 2101; S.2656), rubbed to portrait but delightfully full and round for type with accentuations of vibrant cabinet toning to peripheries, a bolder fine; additionally, Second Coinage, Sixpence, 1612, struck after 23 May 1612, Tower, fourth bust, VI behind, 2.781g, 4h, m.m. tower (North 2103; S.2658), struck on a short, square cut flan, richly cabinet toned with much underlying fiery-orange lustre, largely fine or marginally bolder, but an exceptionally rare pyx mark, accompanied by Fuller's original ticket, stating: 'not in BM, August 1900' (2)
