Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Seventh Issue, Crown, 15 May 1602 - 24 March 1603, Tower, ELIZABETH : D : G : ANG : FRA : ET : HIBER : REGINA : 2 : sceptre to I of REGINA, crowned half-length bust left, wearing decorated dress and wide ruff, holding orb and sceptre, rev. : 2 : POSVI : DEVM : AD IVTORE M : MEVM : square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 29.712g [458.53grns], 5h, m.m. 2 (Brown & Comber 9A; BCW 2-1:2-a; FRC dies G-8 [Sale, lot 14]; BCW 2-1/2-a; N.2012; S.2582A), some minor metal stressing to otherwise pleasingly full round flan, richly cabinet toned and uniformly struck but for third quarter of shield, very fine, the peripheries better still, a very rare date and one of the most expensive coins originally acquired by Fuller and finer than the Montagu Duplicate specimen offered in the same Circular listing for £5.10.0
