Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Sixth Issue, 'Portcullis' Halfpennies, Tower (3), 1 February - 29 November 1583, portcullis, pyx mark above, rev. cross and pellets, 0.220g, 1h, no m.m. [struck during the Bell Pyx period] (BCW BL-1; North 2018; S.2581), lightly cabinet toned with a blue aura, a pleasingly good very fine; others, 14 February 1585 - 30 May 1587 (2), similar, 0.348g, 2h, m.m. escallop (BCW SC-2; North 2018; S.2581), pierced and plugged before June 1900, otherwise lightly toned, very fine; again, as last, 0.234g, 1h, m.m. escallop over A (BCW SC-1; North 2018; S.2581), darkly cabinet toned, a pleasing very fine, the over mark clear (3)
