Edward VI (1547-1553), Third Period, Fine Silver Issue, Shilling, 1551-1553, Tower, (Under-Treasurer, Sir Nicholas Throgmorton), crowned and draped facing bust, Tudor rose to left, denomination to right, rev. square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 5.975g [92.208grns], 10h, m.m. tun (North 1937; S.2482), crimped with graffito in upper obverse field and softness to face, otherwise rich cabinet tone and much underlying lustre to peripheries, a bolder fine to very fine in most parts
