Henry VII (1485-1509), Sovereign Pennies, Durham (2), Bishop John Sherwood, 1485-1494, King enthroned facing, sceptre in right hand, no pillars, rev. CIVITAS DVRRAM, square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, crozier hook to 12 o'clock terminal, D-S across field, 0.718g, 12h (North 1730; S.2231), edge slightly ragged, otherwise richly cabinet toned, almost very fine; another, Bishop Richard Foxe, 1501-1509, similar, with pillars, rev. D-R across field, Mitre above shield breaking upper fork, 0.569g, 8h (North 1731; S.2234), clipped square, rubbed but lightly cabinet toned, a bolder fine / very fine (2)
