CIVITAS LONDON, larger lettering, long cross pierced at terminals, trio of pellets in angles, voided lozenge at centre, 1.006g, 10h, m.m. lys (North 1709; S.2206), clipped and doubled to portrait, otherwise almost very fine; another, similar, rev. rosette stops before CIVI and LON, and after TAS and DON, smaller lettering, 0.961g, 4h, m.m. lys (North 1709; S.2206A), clipped, otherwise very fine, a surprisingly scarce variety (2)
