CIVITAS LONDON, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, 1.378g, 2h, toned, fine or marginally better; another, reading EDWAR R ANGL, similar but with well spread hair, 1.407g [21.713grns], 3h, beautifully and iridescently cabinet toned, almost very fine; another Class 11b3, 1310-1314, similar, but left ornament of crown broke, 1.393g, 3h, toned, a really bold fine; another, Canterbury, reading EDWAR, rev. CIVITAS CANTOR, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, 1.377g, 4h, residual golden toning, a bolder fine; also, Durham, Class 10cf4, c. 1309, reading EDWA R ANGL, rev. CIVITAS DVREME, 1.373g, 8h, peripheral striking softness, otherwise cabinet toned, a bolder fine / almost very fine; another, Durham, Bishop Kellawe, Class 11b, 1310-1314, similar, rev. CIVITAS DVREME, long cross with crozier end, 1.160g, 11h, cabinet toned, a bolder fine; also, Durham, Bishop Beaumont, rev. CIVITAS DVREME, long cross as usual, 1.339g, 10h, i.m. rampant lion and lys (S.1470), porous and granular, otherwise toned, fine or better, the unusual mintmark desirable for this standardised series; lastly, Bury St Edmunds, Class 11a1, 1310-1314, rev. VILL SCI EDMVNDI, 1.343g, 4h, slightly clipped but richly cabinet toned, almost very fine (8)
