Henry III (1216-1272), 'Shortcross' Pennies, Class 7 (4), London (3), c. 1222-1229, Class 7b1, Terri 'le Changeour', hENRICVS R | EX, crowned bust facing, no chin, curls 3/3, rev. + TERIRI ON LVN• [sic], voided short cross pommée, cross pommées in angles, 1.418g [21.883grns], 8h, i.m. cross pattée (Hawkins 641; SCBI Mass -, cf. 1966 [VIIa3]; North 979; S.1356B), darkly cabinet toned on an irregular flan, a pleasingly bold very fine, with a handsome portrait; another, c. 1229-1232, Class 7b2, Terri 'le Changeour', similar, but pellet on chin, rev. + TER•RI ON LVN•D, as last, 1.449g [22.361grns], 1h, i.m. cross pattée (Hawkins 641; SCBI Mass -, cf. 2046; North 979; S.1356B), darkly cabinet toned on an irregular flan, a pleasingly bold very fine, with a handsome portrait; another, c. 1229-1232, Class 7b2, Ricard, as second, rev. + RICARD ON LVN • square-topped A, as first, 1.428g [22.037grns], 12h, i.m. cross pattée (SCBI Mass 2041; North 979; S.1356B), traces of doubling, otherwise lightly cabinet toned, almost very fine; lastly, c. 1222-1229, Class 7b1, Canterbury, Simon, "teardrop" eyes, rev. + SIMVN ON CANT, no stops on reverse, square-topped A, regular M, as before, 1.406g [21.698grns], 10h, i.m. cross pattée (SCBI Mass 2005; North 979; S.1356B), pastille-grey tone, a touch off-struck, otherwise a pleasing very fine (4)
