Stephen of Blois (1135-1154), Cut Halfpennies, London (3), 'Watford' Type, c. 1136-1145, Dereman, [+ ST]IEFNE [R], crowned bust right, lys-tipped sceptre before, rev. + DER[EMAN ON] LVN : octofoil with inverted fleurs in angles, 0.624g [9.630grns], 12h (Hawkins 270; cf. EMC 2013.0041 same dies; cf. North 873; cf. BMC I; cf. S.1278), a broader striking on an irregular planchet, lightly cabinet toned, a bolder fine; additionally, 'Voided Cross and Stars' Types, c. 1145-1150 (2), Hamundr, crowned bust three-quarters facing left, lys-tipped sceptre in left field, rev. [+ hA]MVND : ON : L[VN :], voided short cross, parentheses of pellets at terminals, voided 'caltrops' in angles, 0.762g [11.759grns], 2h (Hawkins 269), lightly toned, almost very fine, an exceedingly scarce moneyer; lastly, Rodbert, as last, rev. + ROD[BERT ON] LVN, similar, 0.713g [11.003grns], 2h (Hawkins 268; North 878; cf. BMC II; cf. S.1280), small flan split, otherwise lightly toned, good fine or marginally better (3)
