A23, dated 9 Sept. 1840, addressed to Truro and additionally franked 1840 1d. Plate 2, FK, with good to large margins, red Maltese Cross cancellations in an orange shade and with matching "Kensington /Penny Post" and black Kingston datestamp on the reverse; the letter sheet a little crumpled (probably from an original enclosure) and some water staining affecting the address. A rare uprated Mulready with a distinctive shade of Maltese Cross
