John 'Lacklands' (1199-1216), Shortcross Pennies, London (5); Abel, Class VIa1, c. 1210-1213, X of REX composed of short thin strokes, crowned bust facing, rev. + ABEL · ON · LVNDE, ND ligate, voided short cross, 1.27g [19.60grns], 12h (SCBI Mass 1740A; North 974/1; S.1353), toned, fair / good fine; also, Ilger (2), Class VIa1, c. 1213-1215, cruder squat bust, curls 2/2, rev. + ILGER · ON · LVN, as before, 1.32g [20.37grns], 10h (SCBI Mass 1743-1744; North 974/1; S.1353), toned, good to fair; another, Class VIb2, c. 1213-1215, tall thin bust and lettering, rev. + ILGER · ON · LVND[ER · O], ND ligate, 1.47g [22.69grns], 10h, double-struck and rotated in the die with resultant capping, cabinet toned, a really bold very fine; lastly, Willem, Class Va2, reading RE/X, i.m. cross pommée (2), reversed S, pelleted curls 2/2, rev. + WILLEM · ON · LVN, as before, 1.44g [22.22grns], 10h (SCBI Mass 1285 ~ Allen 62 same obverse die), heavily die-capped, toned, almost very fine; and, regular S, pelleted curls 2/3, rev. + WILLEM · ON · LVN, as before, 1.42g [21.91grns], 7h (SCBI Mass -; N.969; S.1350B), toned, almost very fine, an interesting variety (5)
