LVN, voided short cross, cross pommées in angles, 1.01g [15.59grns], 6h (cf. SCBI Mass 29-35; North 962; S.1343A), lightly chipped and waterworn, otherwise toned, a bolder fine / very fine; additionally, Richard I 'the Lionheart' (1189-1199), Pennies, London, Ricard (2), ii) Class IIIab2, similar, curls 3/2, rev. + RICARD · ON · LVN, 1.01g [15.59grns], 4h (cf. SCBI Mass 787-790; North 967; S.1347), lightly toned and clipped, very fine, scarce, the dies not present in the Mass collection; iii) another, Class IVa, much as last but the portrait cruder, rev. + RICARD · ON · LVND, ND ligate, 1.22g [18.83grns], 6h (SCBI Mass 930ff), striking flatness, otherwise toned, largely fine; also, iv) Anglo-Gallic Issues, Denier, Poitou, + RICA | RDVS +, rev. AGIVTANII, 0.84g [12.96grns], 4h (Elias 4; AGC 5.1/a; S.8004), off-struck, a bolder fine to almost very fine; lastly, v) Henry III (1216-1272), Voided Longcross, Penny, Class 3c, London, Nicole 'de Sancti Albani', 1.37g [21.14grns], 1h (S.1364), slightly short of flan, toned, a pleasing very fine (5)
