Henry II (1154-1189), 'Tealby' Penny, 1158 - c. 1163, Class A1, Bristol, Tanchard [Tancard], + [hEN]R[I REX ANGL], crowned bust three-quarters left, no hair or collar, mantle falls from chin, cross pattée-tipped sceptre in left field, rev. + TANCARD ON BRIS, short cross potent, cross pattées in angles, 1.41g, 4h (North 952/2; BMC 11; S.1337), daylight spots and a tiny flan split, otherwise trace porosity across darkly toned and largely uniform surfaces, struck details very fine or bolder in most parts, very rare with no parallel on EMC
