NGC MS63 | Richard II (1377-1399), Type Ib, Noble, Tower, + RIC | ARD x D : G : REX : ANGL : Z x FRAnC : D : hIB : Z • AQ, saltire stops, annulet over sail, King standing in ship, holding sword and shield, ornaments 1-1-1-1, ropes 3/1, quatrefoils 5/4, lys 4, rev. + Ih'C : AVTEM : TRANSIENS : PER : MEDIVM : ILLORV : IBAT, double saltire stops, floriate cross, crowned leopards in angles, R at centre, 7.73g, 3h, i.m. cross pattée (Schneider I, 134; North 1302; S.1654), partially short of flan and struck from rusted dies, nonetheless a most pleasing portrait and with lustre, nearing extremely fine, in NGC holder, graded MS63 (Cert. #8220521-010)
