Dalnaglar Pilot was welped on 15 July 1934 at the Dalnaglar Kennels of Miss Eleanor Christian Sharp of Balmuir, Dundee. Entering his first meet at the Golden Jubilee Crufts Dog Show at the Royal Agricultural Hall (Islington) in February 1936, Pilot came in second place for the Novice Dog and Bitch Category, second in the Limit, Dog ranking and third behind sibling Dalnaglar Peer for the Open Dog category.
