The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | George II (1727-1760), 'Roses' Shilling, 1743 over 1, older laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, six hearts to semée, roses in angles, smaller Garter star, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Pywell-Phillips - [cf. 340]; ESC 1203A [R3]; Bull 1721 [R2]; S.3702), some haymarking, otherwise richly cabinet toned and lustrous, a most pleasing and colourful very fine, the overdate clear and very rare
